Archaeology Namibia

Archaeology is the study human activity through the recovery and analysis of material culture. The archaeological record consists of artifacts, architecture, biofacts and cultural landscapes.

So today we are exploring  one of Namibia's World Heritage Sites- Twyfelfontein

The Twyfelfontein is a site of ancient rock engravings in the Kunene Region of North-Western Namibia. It is seen as a World Heritage Site  because it forms a coherent, extensive and high quality record of ritual practices relating to hunger-gatherer communities in this part of southern Africa over at least 2000 years and eloquently illustrates the links between the ritual and economic practices of hunter-gatherers.
